My name is Gabriel Eidelman.
I am an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, with a joint appointment at the Institute for Management and Innovation.
I am Director of the Urban Policy Lab and a Faculty Fellow at the Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance.
I teach courses on urban politics, policy, and governance in both the Master of Public Policy and Master of Urban Innovation programs.
My research focuses on cities and intergovernmental relations in Canada and North America, and has been published in numerous journals, including Cities, Urban Affairs Review, and the Journal of Urban Affairs. I have also authored numerous policy reports for think tanks such as the Institute for Research on Public Policy, the Canadian Urban Institute, and the CSA Public Policy Centre.
My work has been profiled in the Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, and National Post, and I have appeared in news coverage by the New York Times, The Canadian Press, CBC News, and Maclean's.
I earned my PhD in Political Science at the University of Toronto, and held a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at Western University.
